May 16, 1804.] B.A. 1835. Ord. deacon, 1834; priest (Chester) 1835; C. of Salesbury, Lancs. (his brother's parish), 1834-6. P.C. of Goodshaw, 1836-9. P.C. of Bacup, 1839-50. Chaplain to the Royal Hospital for Consumption, Brompton, 1850-73; retired. [As an undergraduate was one of those sworn in as a special constable by Dr Whewell, on the occasion of the riots, when the mob attacked the Anatomical Schools; for an account of the outbreak, see Cooper, Annals, IV. 574.] Died Dec. 19, 1886, aged 76, at 19, Cathcart Road, West Brompton.
