Foster: son of Henry, earl of Carnarvon; CHRIST CHURCH matric. 16 oct. 1795 aged 17; EXETER BA 1798; MERTON MA 1802; BCL & DCL 1808; BD 1840; MP for Hampshire 1806-7; R of Spofforth, Yorkshire 1814; Dean of Manchester 1840 until his death 28 May 1847; editor of 'Musae Etonenses', and an eminent botanist; see Foster's Peerage and Eton Schools Lists.
[Also MP for Cricklade 1811-12; published several books of poetry and many botanical studies].
