Easter, 1756; B.A. 1759; M.A. 1762. Fellow, 1762. Commissioner of Stamp Duties, 1765-1818. A famous collector of prints, portraits and medals and an enthusiastic bibliophile. The sale of his library in 1818 was an historic event in the records of the connoisseur. Read the proof sheets of Nichols' Literary Anecdotes, which are dedicated to him. F.S.A., 1765-1818. Edited, A collection of the Statutes now in force relating to the Stamp Duties. An invalid all his life. Died Sept. 11, 1818, at his apartments in Somerset House, London.
