June 24, 1781; priest, June 23, 1782 (both in Trinity College Chapel). C. of Hanbury, Worcs., 1783-89. Formed an association with Emma, dau. and heiress of Thomas Vernon, of Hanbury Hall, wife of Henry Cecil, afterwards Marquess of Exeter, whereby he was involved in lengthy divorce proceedings, and in 1790 was a prisoner in the Marshalsea; freed in 1794, having paid damages. Married the lady, Oct. 13, 1791, who survived him and married again. Perhaps a tutor at Ostend in 1815 and Chaplain at Smyrna, 1815-17. Probably father of Edward (1822) and Nathaniel (1823).
