Ord. deacon, 1825; priest, 1826. V. of St Florence's, near Tenby, Pembs., 1829-77; restored the Church and built a new vicarage, also started a village school. An ideal country pastor; managed a benefit club; drew up indentures and settled disputes among his parishioners; also possessed sufficient medical knowledge to attend poor people and dispense drugs prescribed by the Tenby doctor. Married Mary Smith, of Papcastle, Cockermouth. Author, The Trial of Creation and other poems. Died Nov. 26, 1877, aged 78. (Boase; F. Barnes.)
