Migrated to TRINITY 6 Feb. 1810, and back to ST JOHN'S 3 Oct. 1815 as Fellow-Commoner. Adm. at Inner Temple 30 Nov. 1809; called to the Bar 24 May 1816; FRS 1839; FSA 1841; DD Lambeth 1848. Ordained deacon (Norwich) 17 June 1821, priest (Gloucester). C. of St Edmund, Norwich 1821-3; PC Christchurch (Brunswick Square), Gloucester 1823-7. Travelled abroad studying conditions on continent 1828; librarian and Keeper of the Manuscripts at Lambeth 1838; Editor of British Magazine 1839-49. Married 1816 to Selina, dau. of Rev. Christopher Stephenson, V of Olney. Author of monograph of the Albigensians and Waldenses 1832, 'The Dark Ages' 1844 etc (see list in DNB). Died 19 Jan. 1866 at Gloucester. Father of John G. (1835).
