There is some question about the date of death of this man which raise questions; Foster is clear in saying he died 1803; other records give 1808 (1803 could be a misreading of that); references in family history entries on line, and 'Collections, historical and archaeological relating to Montgomeryshire', Vol 38, 1917 (Welsh journals.llgc.org.uk accessed 5 Dec. 2016) gives date of death of 1809; his will (PCC) dated Aug. 1811.
Foster: son of Edward of Gunley, co. Montgomery, gent., PEMBROKE, matric. 22 Nov. 1752 aged 17; BA 1756; MA 1759; of Gunley; died 1803; brother of Edward (1742); father of Richard (1789)
Other information given in 'Archaelogia Cambrensis' 4th series Vol XIII, No. L, Apr. 1882) states he was a fellow of Pembroke, lord of Gunley, was chaplain to a peer, was PC of Newport, Salop for much of the 1770s where his four children were born, and that he died in 1803.
