Burscoe was appointed assistant curate of Macclesfield by the Mayor and Corporation of Macclesfield following the death of William Roe on 23 April 1730; his appointment was approved by the Bishop on 28 Dec. 1732. He continued as assistant curate under John Robinson and James Roe.
On the death of James Roe in April 1765, Burscoe was nominated by the Mayor as Prime Curate of Macclesfield on 19 June 1765. He marr. Sarah, dau. of James Andrew of Macclesfield (she d. 1763). He was bur. at Macclesfield in Feb. 1773.
