In 1838 he had become Archdeacon of Bombay, which office he still held at the time of his death. Married Mary Hobson. When on furlough in England, having contracted cholera infection in passing through London, died Sept. 10, 1849, at Exeter. Brother of Richard (1808) and Charles (above).
