(**) unlikely to have been the man of this name who was rector of Beaumont as it appears that this person died in 1616 and it is very likely that the man in Montgomery was alive until at least 1628, perhaps until 1632. For instance, B. Nightingale, Vol. I, (1911) of "The Ejected of 1662 in Cumberland and Westmoreland, their predecessors and Successors" is highly doubtful about the Beaumont appointment, preferring some else of the same name; also in "The Works of Thomas Hearn, MA" Vol. III, p. xxiii, calling him as the 'learned' quotes from his advice given in 1628
