Herring's Visitation Returns III 106. At some date between 20th April and 2nd June 1737, Letters Dimissory for D. orders were granted to Wm Cockburn M.A., entitled to serve the cure of Skipwith. In the Call Book as in the Registers at Skipwith, Mr Cockburn signs as Sequestrator. The first mention of Wm Cockburn is Burial Reg Skipwith, 19th Feb 1737. His last entry is March 19th 1743. Mr Cockburn himself was buried at Skipwith on 4th May 1744. On 16th Augt 1744, Thomas Franks clerk was instituted vicar.
