Indicted at Essex Assizes, 28 March 1585: Indictment of William Seredge of East Hanningfield clerk, parson of the Church there, the parish, church administrated the sacrament of baptism to the male infant of Richard Mee and did not make sign the cross upon his forehead as in mentioned in the book :intitulat the book of common prayer and administracon of sacraments and other Writes and cermonies in the churche of England" but obstinately omitted it. This indictment was certified in the Queen's Bench in Michaelmas 37 Elizabeth (Ass 35/27/T/48)
