Venn: s. John, of Northampton, pleb. Trinity Coll., matric. 5 Dec., 1623, aged 18, B.A. 6 June, 1627; M.A. from New Inn Hall, 19 Nov., 1630, "of all religions in the time of the grand rebellion," vicar of Lydd, Kent, 1632-43, turned Quaker, "and was accounted the Coryphæus of the Quakers," was imprisoned in Newgate; died at Dalston in Sept. or Oct., 1665.
