Married, 1623, Lady Arbella Fiennes, dau. of Thomas, Lord Clinton, Earl of Lincoln (which caused a family quarrel, the father objecting, and the grandfather supporting him; eventually the archdeacon disinherited Abraham). One of the original members of the Massachusetts Company. Accompanied Winthrop to New England, 1630; his wife die from the effects of the journey, and he died Sept. 30, 1630.
