Christ Church, matric. 1 Feb., 1646-7, aged 18; B.A. 6 Nov., 1649, M.A. 8 July, 1651, incorp. at Cambridge 1658, principal of St. Mary Hall 1656, until ejected by the king's commissioners 1660, kept a school at Nettlebed and finally took charge of a congregation in London, died 16 Sept., 1697. Probably not the same as Thomas Coles, Vicar of Spelsbury 1660-6 (Clergy ID 12145), even though this TC was also MA and the patron was the Dean and Chapter of Oxford, based at Christ Church.
