Foster: son of William of Drewsteignton, Devon; gent., PEMBROKE matric. 10 Mar. 1806 aged 18.
There is a lapse between the two ordinations; curacy at St Martin, Exeter, then schoolmastership at Moreton Hampstead (see ID146524 which could be merged with this) appropriate to deacon's ministry. By 1818, recorded as headmaster of Ham House Academy for Young Gentlemen in Charlton Kings, Cheltenham (until at least 1830; described as former schoolmaster in Devon);(is also in Piggott's directory at Ham House in 1830). In 1818 (probably until 1819 or 1820) referred to as 'minister' at Portland Chapel in Cheltenham - private chapel built 1816 but in 1819 handed over to the Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion. (see gloucester.gov.uk/archives, and "The New Guide to Cheltenham..." of 1820.)
These records refer to him as MA, but there is no trace of him having this degree.
