In 1627 Prickett was noted as serving as preacher at Portsmouth and instructing mariners on board St George, the Convertive and the Garland; in 1629 he is recorded as 'preacher of the town and garrison of Portsmouth'; and served the navy until 1634 (CSPD 1627-8, p. 439; 1629-31, p. 92; 1633-4, p. 571).
