Settled at Cambridge, Mass., 1633-6. Afterwards emigrated to the Connecticut valley with Mr Hooker and founded the settlement of Hartford. Teacher of the Hartford Church, 1636. Chaplain in Major John Mason's expedition against the Pequot Indians, 1637. On the death of Mr Hooker continued alone in the charge of the Hartford Church as teacher, 1647-63. Author, theological.
