Nominated as V. of Sparsholt Thomas Belcher (ID 15301) to the Cure of Sparsholt 22/9/1755.
Difficult to identify in V/F as the only man of this name who is MA in 1732 is FOSTER: s. Tho., of York (city), cler. Queen's Coll., matric. 1 March, 1713-14, aged 17; B.A. 1717, M.A. 1720; perhaps rector of Middleton St. George 1722, and of Dinsdale, co. Durham, 1723, rector of Meldon, Northumberland, 1727. See Foster's Index Eccl.
It is probable that Foster's identification is incorrect, as the R. of Middleton St. George and of Dinsdale was only BA in 1722 & 1723, whereas the WN from Queen's was MA in 1720; an added factor is that Queen's was the patron of Sparsholt at this time.
