  There seems to be confusion between Thomas Hosier and William Hosier, both vicars choral at Hereford at the same time - hence some of the entries as William below - this should be borne in mind in all entries about these two men - Thomas listed in Fasti Herefordenses as BA (but no trace in Foster or Venn), elected as vicar choral 1578 and appointed first Custos of the College for life under its new charter 1587, died 1599.
