Query about this man - record gives his institution as rector of Windrush on 18 Sept. 1617 (Windrush a vicarage) and a John Berry instituted as rector same day, same patrons - seems more likely that Lesley was a curate 1617-24, then vicar; also the death in 1661 may also be error as others seem to have been instituted after 1647 - whole is confusing - see VCH for explanations of tithes, rectory, vicarage etc. Hockaday states he was inst. as vicar in 1617; he is not found in Foster or Venn so far under any of the possible names
