A man named John Mease (CCED ID 36589) is said in Foster to have become V of Elmstone Hardwick in 1747; there is no trace of this in CCED records - it could therefore have been this John Mace not John Mease. There is currently a gap in the record in CCED for the years around 1740s-50s
