This man said not to be graduate or learned. Sometimes confused with John Savaker or Savacre V of Frampton on Severn (158118); VCH confirms that he was V of Brockworth from 1575 to 1588, at same time curate at Elmore chapel close to Brockworth (patronage of de Guise) until at least 1602; 1612 could be right. Query remains as to whether he was at Taynton from 1602; it is not far from the Guise held lands near Gloucester but there is no positive indication that he was R of Taynton although a legal case about tithe payments in Taynton in 1610 mentions the clerk was Richard Savacre.
