Foster: of Gloucestershire, pleb., MAGDALEN HALL matric. 17 Apr. 1618 aged 17; BA 12 June 1621; V Chitterne, Wilts, ejected for non-conformity 1662; see Calamy, iii, 360
VCH states he was replaced at Leonard Stanley in 1643; not in list of vicars at Chitterne (placed by Westminister Assembley),died 1689.
Another by name of Elizeus Wyer, also BA, ordained deacon in May 1621, priest Sept, 1621, both by Gloucester (Smith); it would be very possible that this was the same man as no record of an Elizeus Wyer in Foster and the two given names, if said rapidly, could have been scribed differently - but Wiltshire Notes and Queries edition states Dositheus ordained by Goodman of Gloucester who did not begin as ordinary until 1625 - This is likely to be an error and refer to another encounter between Goodman and Wyer. Until this could be cleared up, the two names have been kept separate.
