Venn: adm. sizar aged 18 at TRINITY Cambridge 22 June 1687; son of Edmund of Little Houghton, NOrthants., school Northampton (Mr Styles), matric. 1687; BA 1691; ord. priest Ely 1695; V of Shudy Camps. Cambs., 1698; see Trinity College Adm. Errata
The link with the same name at Shrawardine, Salop is made for the following reasons:
- date of cession at Shudy Camps and date of institution at Shrawardine
- patron of Shrawardine at the time was Henry Bromley, first Baron Montfort of Horseheath, Cambs. and Horseheath continguous with the parish of Shudy Camps in Cambs.
- Montford (t) which the Bromleys took as their title is next to Shrawardine and was linked with it
(Parish records for Shrawardine [as per melocki} give his date of death 1747 but calls him Edmund Jones).
