Since lib. cler. record states 'junior' it is likely that he was a younger relative of a former vicar, Samuel Benson who was deprived of other offices when he refused to take the oath of allegiance. ANother vicar instituted in 1710 which suggests the elder was deprived here also, and that a relative was instituted in 1712?
