  He was monk of Wenlock priory and from 1521 was prior there (mitred, though failed to be chosen as titular bishop as he wished); resigned or was deposed (on pension) 1526 or 1527; see VCH, Shropshire Vol 2: Houses of Cluniac Monks: Abbey, later Priory, of Wenlock pp. 38-47
