This man was a dynamic independent minister, educated Jesus College (MA) Oxford; sanctioned for working unauthorised in Llanor and Deneio, Caerarvon.; conformed at the Restoration, Mar. 1661 V of Bromfield-by-Ludlow, and R of Mellteyrn, Caernarvon but remained in Hereforshire at Bromfield (see Mallteyrhe etc. in records for Bangor dio. where collated in 1661 and death given in 1663 which would appear incorrect); June 1668 vicar of Church Stretton; 1671 became dissenter, jailed for debt, lived in Much Wenlock, worked unlicensed, pastor of 'gathered' church at Wenlock, 1674 excommunicated; regarded as leading Puritan of his time.
