VENN: Adm. pens. at JESUS, Oct. 15, 1662. Of Nottinghamshire. Matric. 1662. C. at Parson Drove, Cambs., 1679-80. C. of Wisbech St Peter, c. 1689. Married Martha (dau. of Thomas Potts), widow of John Herring, R. of Walsoken, whose son Thomas became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1747. (A. Gray.)
According to 'A General History of the County of Norfolk', vol.2 (1829), there is a monument in Walsoken Church which states that Martha was buried in January 1704, before her husband John Herring who lived until 1717, so Venn appears to be wrong about her marriage to Pindar.
