Venn: (as HIGDEN) Matric. sizar from KING'S, Easter, 1682. Previously matric. at St Edmund's Hall, Oxford, Feb. 23, 1680-1, age 18. Perhaps s. of Laurence (? 1636), of Corfe Castle, Dorset, clerk. B.A. 1684-5; M.A. 1688; D.D. 1710. R. of St Paul's, Shadwell, 1711-5. Preb. of Canterbury, 1713-5. Claimed as a non-juror, when C. of Camberwell, but afterwards conformed. Author, theological.
