His successor was instituted on 28 July 1562, VCH, Lancs., 7.297. VCH says that 1562 Visitation gave James Anderton as at Oxford (with caveat that this may be an error for his successor Hugh Anderton); Fishwick, Garstang, 2.145 says that he appeared at the Bishop's Visitation at Lancaster on 10 July.
