Son of John Ashworth, Vicar of Bolton-le-Sands (1587/8) and Rector of Warrington (1589)[23475].
The younger John was Curate of Rochdale in 1602, and afterwards incumbent [recte Curate?] of Milnrow, where he married by licence Grace Chadwick on 27 Sept. 1607. Master of Rochdale Grammar School and a surrogate of the Chancellor of the Diocese. Probably buried at Rochdale 1 July 1617 (though this is perhaps his father).
