Compounded for the first fruits of St Mary's chantry in Eckington 11/08/1543, remaining priest there until its dissolution when he was granted an annual pension of £4-10s-0d which was still being paid in 1574; thereafter he served continuously as curate of the parish as made clear by his frequent appearance as a witness of wills and in the visitation call books of this period; will dated 27/04/1587, inventory 12/06/1587.
