Fielding: Beckenham 1642-50; chancellor of Hereford; deprived.
Foster: of Herefordshire, pleb., BNC, matric. 8 Dec. 1609 aged 16; BA 21 Oct. 1612; perhaps BCL from All Souls' 10 Dec. 1617; DCL 31 Mar. 1625; canon 1631 and Chancellor of the diocese of Hereford (son of Edward of Ledbury); died 1647**?; father of William (1656) (CCEd ID 83817).
**Date of death given in Foster and in the rather old edition of VCH for Kent (which suggests 1644) problematic and very likely in error. Fielding gives the indication that he was rector of Beckenham to 1650 (but he would appear to have been there from 1621, not 1642); in 1650, it can be surmised that he was deprived, as a minister named Storer was installed by Parliament in 1650. Storer was followed by Roger Clissold, whose Foster entry states he was rector of Beckenham in 1658, after Storer, just the one year, and again in 1661. It is most likely that Skinner was restored at Beckenham in 1658, remained there until his death in 1661.
