Of Oxon. pleb., chorister of MAGDALEN COLLEGE 27 Jun. 1590 aged 8; scholar CORPUS CHRISTI 1594; BA 13 Feb. 1601/2; fellow 1602; MA 17 Apr. 1605; BD 8 July 1613; DD 12 July 1617 as Featley; of Lincoln's Inn 1628; one of assembly of divines. R of Northill, Cornwall 1613; R of Lambeth 1618; domestic chaplain to Dr Abbot, Archbp of Canterbury, one of the brethren of the Savoy Hospital; R of All HAllows, Bread Street 1626 and of Acton, Middx 1627 until deprived 1643; provost of Chelsea College. Son of John Fairclough, cook to Dr Lawrence Humphrey, presidnet of Magdalen, and afterwards cook at Corpus Christi. Born at Charlton upon Otmore, Oxon. 5 Mar. 1582, died at Chelsea COllege 17 Apr. 1645, buried in chancel of Lambeth church; brother of John Featley. See Ath. iii, 156, and Featley in DNB
