Ord. deacon (Lincoln) Sept. 25, 1825; priest, Sept. 24, 1826; C. of Springthorpe and Heapham, Lincs., 1825. P.C. of Stow-in-Lindsey, 1836-65. Experienced great difficulties owing to the hostility of many parishioners to the Church; there had previously been no resident minister in the memory of living man. Succeeded at length in rescuing the charitable funds from abuse, and establishing schools and finally secured a house for the incumbent. Worked strenuously to carry out the restoration of the Church. Died May 23, 1865, aged 63, at Stow-in-Lindsey. (G. Mag., 1865, II. 114.)
