One of the petitioners against the Liturgy and Thirty-nine Articles, who applied to Parliament for relief. An eccentric character, described by Cole in Athenae Cantabrigienses, lame of one leg by some accident, and a great rower on the water, a lively and ingenious man, plays well on the harpsichord, sings well, draws well and etches not amiss. Author, Sermons, etc. Died May 6, 1792, aged 54, at Hotwells, Bristol. Buried at Sidmouth. M.I. in Sidmouth parish church.
