  Possibly VENN: Matric. sizar from MAGDALENE, Michs. 1546. Of Anglesey. B.A. 1550-1 (1st in the ordo); M.A. from St John's, 1554. Fellow of St John's, 1551. Possibly identical with the Welsh poet of these names (better known by his bardic name of William Lleyn or Llyn). If so, made chief bard at Caerwys, 1568. V. of Oswestry, 1583-7. Died there 1587.
