Silverwood was ordained priest on 25.9.1642, by Towers of Peterborough (according to his ordination register) and by Williams of Lincoln (according to a Nottingham visitation book of 1663). The latter is likely to be a scribal error, as is not uncommon with entries in liber cleri.
