Perhaps some confusion about this man - Foster mixes a little with John Williams, DCL, archdeacon etc of Gloucester to whom Dymock is allocated in 1554, but it is a benefice omitted from Rudge's long list of benefices held by the latter, and he was dead by 1559. Perhaps some problem in that the latter presided over the institution while commissary, archdeacon etc.
