Herald's Visitation of Cambridgeshire, 1684, records him as fourth son of Richard Bainbrigg (d. c. 1648) of Cambridge, and half-brother of Richard (d. 1670), Curate of Wilburton, DD and fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, aged 53 in 1684. The Genealogist, Vol. III, 236.
