Valentine was collated to Nuthurst (Sussex) in 1817. He ceded it to George Maximilian Bethune, Rector of Worth, who had just presented Valentine to Wanstrow (Someset) and was collated to Nuthurst in his place. In Dec. 1822 - June 1823 Valentine and Bethune swapped livings; in Dec. 1822 Valentine was collated back at Nuthurst upon Bethune's resignation, and in June 1823 Bethune was instituted to Wanstrow upon Valentine's cession. Nuthurst records split to correct for his two incumbencies there.
