Tutor to the Beckford family, 1799. Preb. of Chichester, 1804-32. Chaplain to the Duke of Hamilton. Married (1) a daughter of John Newling, alderman of Cambridge (died 1788); (2) May 25, 1788, a daughter of Dr Hinckley, of St Mary Aldermanbury, London. Well known as a poet.
