Adm. pens. at QUEENS', Nov. 12, 1788. Of Northants. [S. of Robert, of Daventry. B. Mar. 20, 1771. School, Rugby.] ' Matric. Michs. 1788; B.A. 1792; M.A. 1795. Ord. priest (Peterb.) Oct. 1796, as M.A. of Queens College, Cambridge. According to a statement in the Parl. Reg. of Newnham, Cudworth Bruck the preceding curate gave the Registers of Badby and Newnham to the Rev. John Andrew, of Daventry, Feb. 12, 1794. It would seem that John Andrew was first C. of Daventry, and probably C. of Badby and Newnham as deacon till his priesthood in Oct. 1796. Died May 17, 1801, aged 30. M.I. at Daventry. [To be distinguished from John Andrew, M.A., Preb. of Exeter, 1794-9, and Archdeacon of Barnstaple 1798-9; died July 3 (? 10) 1799, aged 49; see Le Neve, Fasti Eccles., I. 408; and G. Mag., 1799, II. 629, where the dates do not coincide with those in Le Neve.] See also note sub Andrews, John, M.A., 1784. (Baker, I. 332; H. I. Longden; Northants. and Rutland Clergy.)
