Involved in a dispute and subsequent litigation with his former college friend, the patron of the living, Sir Martin Browne Folkes, Bart., on the question of tithes. [An account of the dispute in defence of his father's action is given by William Browne Folkes in the Gentleman's Magazine, May, 1822, and was occasioned by the statements about that dispute made in the biographical sketch of the Rev.
