Described as an energetic rector with a strong will and of singular bodily vigour; enforced order in the Church by the power of his lungs, and in the streets by the weight of his arm. Modernised the rectory house, laid out the garden and raised a cedar from a seed brought from Lebanon by his friend Dr Lee of Hartwell. Author, Sermons. Died Oct. 30, 1836, at Houghton Conquest.
