Foster appears to be wrong here as Joseph, son of Thomas Milward rector of Long Marton died aged 38 in April 1782, so was not PC of Denby. See memorial in Long Marton church or at www.northofthesands.org.uk. Information supplied by Judy Currie on 02/02/2017:
'Sacred memory of Thomas Milward A.M. Rector of Long Marton & Kirkbythore who died June 1775 aged 69, & of his wife Dorothy Gibbon who died March 1756. also of their children Joseph, Rector of Long Marton who died April 1782 aged 38, William who died Ap. 1751 aged 14, Catherine February 1752 aged 15, Anne April 1757 aged 21,Hester September 1823 aged 77, Dorothy the infant child of Joseph Milward A.M. died Ap. 1782.'
