Ord. deacon (Carlisle, Litt. dim. from Ely) June 8, 1833; priest, June 21, 1834; V. of Shudy Camps, Cambs., 1834-7. V. of Bottisham with Lode, 1837-61, when he resigned. Rural Dean. Antiquarian and archaeologist. While at Bottisham, through his efforts, the church there was restored and a church was built in the adjoining village of Lode. He restored Anglesey Abbey, Cambs., and resided there from 1861 until his death, his widow continuing to live there until she died in 1887. Died Apr. 26, 1871.
