He was never made known as Editor or writer, and would probably have thought it a degradation: but he was prime adviser and friend. Left his large collection of chronicles, histories and memoirs in English, French and Italian, and a bust of himself to the College Library. Died Oct. 12, 1852. (Peile, II. 329.)
