There is much online on this man and his son, Nicholas: in particular www.family2remember.com/famtree/b247.htm which is a carefully sourced and written website, and www.frenchaymuseumarchives.co.uk/Archives/PagesBiogy/Crandall.htm (acc'd 28 June 2015)
The interest in the family is that a descendent founded Westerley, Rhode Island, and was residing in New England by 1647.
It appears fairly certain that Nicolas Crondall [Snr] (Cundall, Crundell etc) was son of a Worcestershire man, coming from near Bewdley (hence the appointment of NC snr to Ribbesford) who moved to fairly nearby Tewkesbury where Nicolas Crondall was born about 1530; in 1564 an Edward Crondall was incumbent of Tewkesbury, followed by NC(snr); who seems to have been of puritain tendencies and after problems with parishioners became rector of Winterbourne, Gloucs. where he died in 1589, although after further disagreements with parishioners he was also collated to Iron Acton, Gloucs. Needs merge with ID 148568 Cundall to show this.
The entries for 1599 and 1600 obviously do not belong to Nicolas Crondall snr but to his son Nicholas; who succeeded his father at Winterbourne, but not for long and was then believed to be incumbent of Penterry, Monmouthshire the home of his elder brother James who held the advowson in both Winterbourne and Penterry at the time.
